NGC 7822 (CED 214)

Type: Emission nebula in the constellation Cepheus / Alternative names: Ced214, Sharpless 171 (SH2-171) / Distance ~ 3000 Ly 

It’s a violent, chaotic deep-sky region where young stars are born. The powerful radiation of the stars ionising the surrounding gas and causing it to glow. These high energetic stellar winds are also carving out the dusty streams and pillars seen throughout the nebula (see inset, top left)
