Comet C/2022 E3
Type: Comet (distance at time of observation ~ 65 Mkm, diameter ~ 1 km)
Inset: The region around the core shows structure of the initial tail. The tail consists of an ionic and a dust part. The ion tail contains ionised gas and dust and always streams directly away from the Sun. The dust tail, laced with microscopic dust particles, curves slightly in the direction of the comet's orbit.
